Biography

I am a designer who likes to work with people and technology to help make things that have a positive impact on the world. Through great research and design I aim to contribute to creating great outcomes for tough problems. I have the ability to apply big picture thinking to products, services and experiences, while being able to lead and support the execution of ideas in reality.

Trained as a visual communication designer, I have applied my skills to a wide variety of challenges and mediums—print media, digital interfaces, exhibitions, the web, information graphics, wayshowing systems and signage, brand architecture, questionnaire design, vexillography (flags), pictograms, publications, and more.

Currently I am working as a Design Manager and Product Designer for Lightspeed Commerce. Previously I worked at Toi Āria: Design for Public Good, worked on a VAA called VoteLocal at the Design+Democracy Project, and taught at Massey University’s College of Creative Arts.

In 2016 I completed a MDes on how a democratic design process could be facilitated and was as explored through New Zealand's 2015 Flag Consideration Process. The thesis is viewable online here.
