Our Data, Our Way was developed to enable a broad cross-section of New Zealanders to easily express their personal positions on a range of hypothetical data scenarios. A board game and online tool were developed through translating social licence terminology into an everyday, commonsense decision tool. This enabled New Zealanders to express their positions on different data use and sharing situations, and asked them what would make them more comfortable with each data sharing scenario.
Our Data, Our Way involved 27 face-to-face workshop conversations across New Zealand from Whangarei to Invercargill, involving 379 participants, and the online tool received over 4,000 responses.
